Objectives:
Students will get an introduction to communication skills and practice them.

Bellwork: 15 min.

Pregame: 35 min.
Go over the 10 ways to have better conversations. Ask the students to discuss something that’s very controversial while using these strategies. (This may be who or what is better in the popular sphere. It’s okay if the students pick this.)
Ask the students which strategy they find the easiest and hardest to use. Ask them to pick one and write how they will use it today during the game. Have them write 3 If…Then statements planning at least 3 different situations in which they can use the strategy.

Game Play: 30 mins.
Set game timer and click “End Day” on your website.
Let people start to negotiate.

Conclusion: (10 mins.)
Ask the students to evaluate their plans, and have them write down what they did to communicate better.
