- Pieces are placed by students.
- One practice day is played.
- 15 days are played for 30-45 minutes each, each day is presented with 2 new problems that the students must solve while building up their countries.
- On day 12 there are elections. Secret ballots are cast amongst all participants for the Prime Ministers of each country. That prime minister then can appoint a new cabinet if desired.
- After every day there is a group discussion about the social interactions, and relevancy to real life.
- A final reflection is done by all players of the game.
A game day.
- Each country determines weather for the day, determining how this will affect production and consumption.
- The bell rings beginning play time. Each day of play represents 1 month in real time.
- Each team decides whether or not to move any pieces that are moveable.
(Buildings and cities are not moveable).
Each tank and boat can move 1 square per day.
Each plane can move 3 squares per day.
Bombs and soldiers need to move with necessary equipment in order to use the equipment. - Teams can decide to attack at any time after a declaration of war has been signed. Bombs can attack up to 2 squares away from the launching site.
- Players are given 2 crises to work on. These crises are listed in the problems section of the how to play.
- Prime Ministers, United Nations, Banks etc. call meetings with their staff and other people to resolve the crises and to build their nations.
- All people work on solving the daily crises.
- The day ends.
How to resolve a crisis.
In order for an agreement made between nations to be binding, there must be an agreement drawn up by the proposing party and signed by all participants. This agreement must contain what the problem is, what the solution is and the responsibilities with a time deadline for each participant.
How to transfer money.
All money transfers are done with checks, made out to the person or organization.
How to start a war.
A declaration of war must be signed by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Army. The signed document must contain a grievance (problem) with another country, and a date that the war is to start.
Consequences of war.
Each bomb kills 2 soldiers of the country that is bombed. The receiving country must write letters of condolence to the parents of the killed soldiers within a game day’s time, or their ability to bomb other countries is ceased by the United Nations Law.
If an area is occupied by another country, it may receive taxes from the residents of that area.
Government Programs
